Driver arrested for being under the influence

On Jan. 13, 2024, at approximately 11:16 p.m., the California Highway Patrol Arrowhead Area was dispatched to a pedestrian lying in traffic lanes on State Route 18, near the 4000-foot level. This incident involved a Subaru Impreza.

For reasons yet to be determined through the investigation, the passenger of the Subaru Impreza exited the vehicle. During the investigation, the driver of the Subaru Impreza was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and was booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.

According to CHP public information officer Ubaldo Gonzalez, the driver was identified as Isaac Dejesus Castrejon. His community of residence could not be released.

The passenger of the Subaru Impreza, found lying in traffic lanes, was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries. Her condition the night of the accident was listed as stable, recovering from a head injury.
