In other Rec and Park news, both the Twin Peaks and Robert Hootman Community Centers are having new windows installed and will be getting new HVAC systems and generators.
A land lease with the Running Springs Water District has been approved for a Running Springs dog park next to the Running Springs library. Rec and Park will be hosting community meetings for feedback on there to find some project funding sources and dog park amenity options.
The activity room at the district office in Rimforest remains closed for the time being. It suffered beam damage in last winter’s storms. The district is waiting for the insurance claim to be resolved and for the repairs to be made.
The district is in the process of forming the Mountain Recreation Park Foundation. Individuals interested in serving on the foundation should complete the interest form on the website, www.rim-rec.org.
