The Mountain Christian Women’s Fellowship March tea will feature speaker Valerie Wingate and musician Sarah Schumate.
The tea will be held on Friday, March 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Church of the Woods (1410 Calgary Drive, Lake Arrowhead).
Wingate will speak on “Transformed from Victim to Overcomer.” She is thankful to have the opportunity to share how God’s love has changed her life. She is convinced God can use the major events of her life to help others. She recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary and is the mother of two adult children who are active in the church choir and leadership.
Schumate was raised on the mountain and recently graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a bachelor’s degree in music education. She currently teaches music privately and in the elementary schools on the mountain and works as a substitute teacher for the Rim of the World Unified School District. She also serves as the worship intern at Lake Gregory Church.
She received an old piano for free when she was about 8 years old. Her love for playing and creating music was sparked even more. In college she was part of Campus Crusade for Christ. She is drawn toward leading worship and music education because of the opportunity to change lives through music. In the future she plans to release an album of original songs and pursue a master’s program.
To make a reservation, call or text Beth at (909) 223-1285. The $10 is payable at the door. Ladies should bring their own tea cups. Child care is available at $1 per child.
For those unable to attend, the tea will be live streamed on three platforms: www.facebook.com/MountainChristianFellowship, www.facebook.com/ChurchoftheWoods and churchofthewoods.org.
Mountain Christian Women’s Fellowship is an interdenominational group of Christian women dedicated to sharing God’s message of love, hope and forgiveness with the women of the mountain.
