Group holding large donation check for charity

The Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club recently donated $2,200 to Mountain Meals on Wheels in support of the nonprofit’s delivery of meals to the homebound. Roxie Bennen (second from right), the recipient coordinator, told the Rotarians that all the food they deliver is fresh – never frozen. Jack Cooperman (second from left), president of MMOW, said their drivers “are the best.” During last winter’s snow events, the drivers first shoveled themselves out, then shoveled out their recipients and took food to them from their own homes. The check was donated to Cooperman and Bennen by Bob Mosby, the club’s Foundation chair, and President Mary Ann Dickinson. “This donation,” Bennen said, “will help people who can’t pay for their meals.”
