Colorful rubber ducks on water slide race

The first two attempts at holding this year’s Duck Derby at Lake Gregory were thwarted by Mother Nature. But Coordinator Jenna Rose was not deterred – on April 24, the brightly colored duck were sent swimming down the water slide, thanks to the Lake Gregory Company. The event was live streamed for all to enjoy. First place went to Duck #1176, owned by B. Horton, who won $1,000. Second place and $500 went to Duck #536 and Kim Imbriani. Third place, $250, was won by Duck #467 and Adrian Cruz. The lame duck – which never made it to the splash pool – was Duck #745, Allie Allison, who won $100. The money raised by the sale of the ducks will help fund the fireworks on July 6.
