Ariel and Paul Ehe relocated their family to the mountain community in 2020 from Washington. Ariel shared that they wanted to be closer to family as her husband, Paul, had grown up here.

These designs were awarded second the third place.

The couple opened Mountain Life Supply Co., an outdoor sporting goods store, because their family has long been involved in skiing and snowboarding and they hoped to stay in that lifestyle.

“Our main objectives,” Ariel said, “are to provide a great customer experience, rental gear or services for the sports we promote, and offer a rad place to hang at events.”

Ariel and Paul are dedicated to the community and hope to encourage more people to participate in outdoor sports.

True to their desire to give back to the community, Ariel and Paul recently held a scholarship contest for students in the Rim High School graphic design program to create designs for products to be sold at the store. The contest winners were chosen by a community vote that took place over a few weeks.

And Mackenzee Norwood, the third-place winner won a $50 cash prize; her design will be offered as a free coloring page. The winning designs will be available for purchase in the store on May 10.

In the store shoppers can find a wide range of equipment for outdoor activities. Ariel and Paul specialize in mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding. Shoppers can get anything they might need for those activities including, but not limited to, apparel, equipment, safety gear and accessories. Camping and hiking equipment are on the way. They also offer year-round services for bikes, skis, and snowboards. Visitors and locals alike can rent gear for a daytime mountain adventure.
