Plans for the 46th annual Jamboree Days celebration over the July 4th weekend in 2024 are in full swing, according to the Crestline Chamber of Commerce.
The festivities will begin on Saturday morning, July 6, with the Jamboree Days parade along Lake Drive in Crestline.
The beaches at Lake Gregory Regional Park will be open all day, as will the newly rebuilt Goodwin’s Market. The chamber plans a Fun Zone next to Rim Bowling and a beer garden with a live band in the parking lot of Arrowhead Credit Union. Scores of shops, restaurants, vendors and food trucks will be available for browsing and dining throughout town. Fireworks will begin over the lake at 9:00 p.m.
The Lake Gregory Company will again host the spectacular annual Jamboree Days fireworks celebration, free to the public. These fireworks are known as one of the best shows in the southland.
“Fireworks are a great tradition in Crestline and the Lake Gregory Company is happy to host the show again this year,” notes Nathan Godwin, general manager at the lake. “I think we have one of the best venues for watching fireworks anywhere around because we shoot over the water and the community can get so close to the action from all sides!”
The theme of this year’s 10:00 a.m. parade is “Amazing Mountain Adventures.” Dr. Andy Sharobiem of Optima Health, which is presenting Jamboree Days this year in collaboration with Lake Gregory Company and the chamber, said the theme “showcases the energetic atmosphere that surrounds this community, whether it be enjoying all the outdoor activities Lake Gregory has to offer or all the unique and fun activities right in the heart of town. Optima Health is extremely proud to sponsor an event that is so vital to our thriving community for the second year in a row.”
In keeping with the “Amazing Mountain Adventures” theme, the chamber is delighted to announce that Bill and Michelle Johnson of SkyPark at Santa’s Village will serve as the parade’s grand marshals. Together, they have revitalized the adventurous spirit in our towns. Adding activities at SkyPark like mountain biking and hiking trails, rock wall-climbing, bouldering, ziplining and ice-skating have helped realize their vision of an adventure destination and raised the energy on the mountain for every rim community.
The chamber also plans to kick off Jamboree Days with a free community picnic on Sunday, June 30 at San Moritz Meadow in Crestline. The picnic will feature family games, food and craft vendors.
Detailed information, vendor interest forms and parade entry signup forms are available at Lake Gregory.com. This website is where locals may nominate individuals to be honored as Crestline’s Citizen of the Year through June 2.
