Do you have an interest in volunteering with the Arrowbear Lake Fire Department?

Arrowbear Lake Fire is excited to introduce the Basic Emergency Auxiliary Response team or BEAR team for short. This program gives local residents the ability to be involved with the fire department, while assisting in large scale community disasters and community events throughout the year.

Successful BEAR team members will be trained in basic disaster response skills, such as use of portable fire extinguishers, light search and rescue, basic incident command, use of emergency communications equipment, as well as CPR and basic first aid.

To be a rostered team member one must:

• Graduate from the four-week BEAR course, which will take place on Saturdays.

• Be a full-time resident of the community of Arrowbear Lake.

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Participate in and attend monthly meetings.

• Submit to and pass a background check if accepted.

The first Bear team meeting and training will be held at Fire Station 271, located at 33045 CA-18 in Arrowbear Lake, on Saturday, Aug. 3 , from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interested residents should RSVP to Fire Chief Paul Lindley at p.lindley@ablfd.org to confirm attendance.
