The fireworks were preceded by a number of flyovers – planes, helicopters and even The Tumbling Bear.

Talking about the Lake Arrowhead fireworks – put on by the Arrowhead Lake Association with donations from ALA members – one Lake Arrowhead resident said she has seen displays all over the country but these are the most spectacular.

Both the Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory shows are designed by Crestline resident Jason Pope, who works with Pyro Spectaculars. The Lake Arrowhead show is shot from a barge in the middle of the lake.

Pope has said that, for him, the best part of the show is when the sky is once again dark but the cheering of the crowd continues. “Hearing the cheering of the crowd is basically why I do it,” he said. “That 30 seconds to a minute of cheering gives me all the excitement I need.”
