Labor Day weekend is filled with excitement

Labor Day weekend has many events and activities being offered by many groups. Here is a list of some of them. Most of the bars will have live or karaoke music each night.

Thursday Aug. 29:

• Rim Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, 6 p.m., Lake Arrowhead County Club honoring John Beresford (wrestling), Bill Dickson (volleyball), Jill Lawler-Whitney (volleyball), Marcie Van Dusen (wrestling), Linda Pattison (volleyball), Greg Ward (football). Dinner at 5 p.m. RSVP.

• Twin Peaks farmers market at Masonic Center parking lot, 2-7 p.m. on Hwy 189.

Friday Aug. 30:  

• Author’s champagne reception. Free, open to the public at the Mountain History Museum, 27176 Peninsula Drive, Lake Arrowhead. Meet and greet authors Diane Wilk, Ezra Murray, Russ Keller and Rhea-Frances Tetley, who together have written over 11 books on the local area. If you have one of their books, bring it for a free autograph.

• Lakeside Players No Way Out world premiere at the Tudor House, 7 p.m. RSVP and tickets available at the door. Repeats Saturday evening and Sunday matinee performance. What would you do if kidnapped by people who speak a different language than yourself? www.HeislerTheater.com. 

• 42nd annual Country Faire at the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church, 351 Hwy 173, all day. Repeats on Saturday.

• Market Nnight and concert at Lake Gregory’s South Shore pavilion, free, 4-8 p.m. 

• Mountain Folk Fridays on Lake Drive in Crestline, music and stores open until 8 p.m. 

Saturday Aug. 31:

• Twin Peaks annual community BBQ at the Rim of the World Masonic Lodge in Twin Peaks, 2-7 p.m.

• Witches Night Market at Bizzyland on Lake Drive, Crestline. Unique vendors, music and more.

• Women’s entrepreneur seminar at How Money Works, Crestline, 23798 Lake Drive, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

• 42nd annual Country Faire at the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church, 351 Hwy 173 

• Lakeside Players No Way Out at the Tudor House, 7 p.m. RSVP and tickets available at the door. www.HeislerTheater.com. 

• Burgers & Brews, 6-8 p.m. after the lake closes at Lake Gregory. Music at the North Shore patio with beer and burgers for purchase.

• WOW’s Summer of Fun marketplace, next to 7-Eleven in Crestline.

• Farmers Market in Running Springs, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Music and vendors. 2645 Whispering Pines Road, next to library. 

Sunday, Sept. 1:

• Free ice cream social at Mountain History Museum, 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. to celebrate the end of summer, 27176 Peninsula Drive at Rhine Road in Lake Arrowhead.

• Lakeside Players No Way Out at the Tudor House, 4 p.m. RSVP and tickets available at the door. www.HeislerTheater.com.

Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 2:

• Last day the beach at Lake Gregory will be open, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. After this the beach area closes for the season and the inflatables will be removed for the winter.
