On Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, responded to a call for service in the 30000 block of Green Valley Lake Road in the community of Green Valley Lake. The reporting party advised there was an argument at the location with a male named Alfred Dean Roskovich.
The reporting party (who wishes to remain anonymous) said that Roskovich, 40, was “screaming horrible obscenities that could be heard all over town and across the lake.” However, the RP said, “It didn’t look like there was anything the sheriff could do because Dean didn’t have any incriminating evidence on the lot where he was illegally squatting.”
The deputy waited and then conducted a traffic stop on Roskovich and found him to be in possession of a high-capacity ammunition magazine and black powder. He was arrested on charges ranging from felon in possession of firearms, ammunition, explosives and narcotics and possession of stolen property. He was subsequently transported to the Sheriff’s Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where he was booked in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Roskovich was found to be a convicted felon prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition. Through investigation, deputies learned Roskovich was living at a residence in the 32000 block of Canyon Drive, Green Valley Lake with Maribel Marquez. A search warrant was served at the Canyon Drive address and associated locations where deputies seized several firearms including a confirmed stolen rifle, suspected methamphetamine, suspected psychedelic mushrooms and recently stolen property from businesses near the Lake Arrowhead Village.
Marquez, 35, was also arrested, charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of illegal narcotics and booked at the Central Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Lyndsi Garrett told the Alpine Mountaineer on Aug. 28 that Roskovich was well known to sheriff’s deputies due to multiple service calls in the past.
