August 20, 2024

LAA (Kidnapping) Seeley Dr – On Tuesday, 8/20/24, deputies investigated a report of a black Prius with a male and female inside – witnesses had observed male striking the female – deputies searched the area along Hwy 138 near Crestline CTF – found the suspected victim – witnesses at the scene informed deputies that the male had left the area, heading down highway – deputy arrived and observed victim displaying several significant injuries – her left eye was bruised and swollen shut, both of her knees had deep abrasions surrounded by bruising, her right ankle was wrapped in a bandage – additionally her arms showed multiple minor scrapes and bruises – the victim was transported to ARMC for treatment – deputy interviewed victim about the incident, asking who was responsible for her injuries – however, victim was uncooperative and refused to provide any information about the situation or the identity of the male subject in the vehicle 

LAA (Vandalism) Rim of the World High School – On 8/20/24 between 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., unknown subject(s) scratched the right side of the hood of the victim’s 2012 gray Subaru while it was parked at Rim High School – school has been contacted – pending review of video surveillance for any evidence

LAA (Warrant Arrest) Lyon Dr – Deputy contacted suspect at the incident location after having prior knowledge of his warrants – through a records check, deputy confirmed suspect had seven active misdemeanor warrants – deputy handcuffed suspect to the rear and placed him in the backseat of patrol vehicle – suspect arrested and transported to CDC

CRL (Grand Theft Auto) State Hwy 18 – On 8/21/24 between 8:00 p.m. to 9:13 p.m., RP’s vehicle was stolen – per RP, vehicle ran out of gas along Hwy 18 – RP called girlfriend to pick him up to get gas – when they returned, the vehicle was missing – deputies did an extensive area check – unable to locate – all keys accounted for – RP is behind one payment – no persons had permission to drive vehicle – teletype sent

August 22, 2024

RSP (Warrant Arrest) Nob Hill Cir – Mother having a psychotic episode – bit RP’s guest on his finger – is bleeding – female extremely verbal – diagnosed with cognitive impairment and mild dementia – victim did not desire report for assault – denied medical – female was arrested for her outstanding warrant – booked into CDC without incident

CRL (Driving W/O License) Springwater Rd/Lake Dr – Vehicle stopped for registration – driver advised he did not have a valid driver’s license – records check showed suspect in violation of driving without a license – suspect issued citation – vehicle towed

RSP (Possession Control Substance) Hilltop Blvd/Palo Alto Way – Vehicle stopped for broken headlight – contacted driver who had a suspended license – suspect informed deputy that there was methamphetamine inside his vehicle – during a search of the vehicle, deputy located white crystalline substance and three glass pipes consistent with meth use – suspect arrested

CRL (P/M/S Danger Weapon) Lake Gregory Regional Park – Deputy located vehicle parked at Lake Gregory after hours – upon contact, suspect inside vehicle exited with firearm on person – detained without incident – suspect does not have a CCW – firearm was loaded – suspect arrested – transported/booked into CDC

ARB (Burglary) Arrowbear Dr – On 8/19/24, tenant was evicted from the property – when RP returned on 8/22/24, the padlock on the storage unit was removed – multiple items missing from inside the unit were stolen – includes fishing rods, coffee table, TV, snowshoes – total value $670.00 – RP did not have serial number for TV – could only identify subject by first name – had no other information 

CRL (Warrant Arrest) Pioneer Camp Rd/Wildrose Ln – Suspect had two active warrants – arrested and booked at CDC

LAA (Assault) Village Rd/Lake Resort Rd – Victim was working a concert at the Village as a security guard – victim felt sick and began to throw up in a flower bed – while bent over, an unknown subject either kicked or punched victim near his left rib cage – did not see the person – could not give a description other than a subject wearing all dark clothing – victim was transported to Mountains Community hospital by Fire

CRL (Death Investigation) Springy Path – Confirmed deceased – appears natural

CRL (Counterfeit Bill) Lake Dr – On Saturday, 8/24/24, deputy was dispatched to Lake Drive Hardware for $300.00 of counterfeit money – the store owner advised deputies he did not have cameras in the store to capture the male subject involved – cashier described the subject to be a white male with curly dark hair and blue eyes – the store is working on obtaining a still image of the subject from cameras across the street

CRL (False Vehicle Registration) Pioneer Camp Rd/Friendly Ln – On 8/24/24, deputy conducted a vehicle check on a white Ford F350 box truck – upon further investigation, deputy discovered the vehicle was displaying false registration tabs – although vehicle was registered in November 2021, it had a 2024 sticker – deputy made contact with driver – after being read his Miranda rights, suspect admitted to driving the vehicle – during a search of the vehicle, methamphetamine was found inside – suspect confessed to owning the meth, stating that he purchased it that day with the intention of smoking it – suspect was arrested and booked at the CDC for violations – vehicle towed – teletype sent

CRL (Burglary) Saturn Way – CHP transfer – Victim was in a traffic accident on 7/27/24 – did not return to his residence until 8/22/24 – sometime between those dates, unknown subjects entered the residence through garage – estimated damages about $10,000.00 – will put together an itemized list and email it to deputy at a later date

CRL (Grand Theft Auto) Fern Dr – Subject wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, light colored shorts and beanie with longer blond hair attempted to steal RP’s dirt bike – subject was unable to get the bike around the vehicle in the driveway – in the process, subject scratched RP’s vehicle on the passenger rear door and rear quarter panel – area check for subject negative – video obtained as evidence

BLU (False Report Crime) Rim of the World Dr – Victim states her ex-husband arrived at her location today between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and hit her once on the face causing a bruise on her right eye – victim and her ex-husband share one child together – have been divorced since 2021 – made phone contact with ex-husband – ex-husband stated he has not been at the victim’s residence per their child custody exchange agreements since Friday, 8/23/24

LAA (Miscellaneous Incident) N Fairway Dr – RP attended an engagement and birthday party where about 120 guests were present – alcoholic beverages were consumed starting around 7:30 p.m. – as the night progressed, RP continued drinking and began feeling the effects of the alcohol around 10:30 p.m. – about half of the guest had left the residence at that time – a text message was sent to a boyfriend not present at the part saying “goodnight” – there is no memory of events after that point until waking up around 7:00 a.m. the following morning – upon waking, it was discovered that jean shorts and underwear worn the previous night were off and placed on the right side of the bed – no pain or discomfort was noted upon waking – after leaving the Airbnb, a drive back to Palmdale was made, where the experience was shared with the boyfriend – on boyfriend’s suggestion, a police report was filed – a request was made for a sart kit to verify if anything had occurred while intoxicated, particularly because the clothing was found off and a hickey was noticed on the collarbone – there was uncertainty about whether anything happened or who might have been involved – RP was accompanied to Redlands Community Hospital where law enforcement medical services nurse conducted the necessary testing

CPP (Burglary) Mojave River Rd – Between 8/10/24 and 8/25/24, unknown subject(s) forced entry into the RP’s detached garage – garage was locked with two padlocks which were broken and pried off – $1,200.00 worth of power equipment were missing from the garage – RP’s video cameras were out of range to capture the incident – deputy dusted a tool box opened by the unknown subject – a check of the Crestline pawnshop was negative for the items – no additional leads

CPP (Vandalism) Mozumdar Dr – Sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on 8/25/24, unknown subject cut the RP’s exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter – it appears the subject used a saw – no cameras in the area – cost $200.00-300.00 for repairs

GVL (Petty Theft) Holcomb Creek Dr – RP has been building a house on the property for the past year – RP had issues with neighbors below his residence about the work – neighbor had called code enforcement and cursed at RP in the past – today, RP noticed his solar security camera missing from a wooden post – RP’s worker stated the porta potty restroom lock was gone – contacted neighbor who stated he saw a pickup truck with an American flag drive by with a flood light on 8/13/24 at 2:30 a.m. – area check negative for cameras/witnesses

CRL (Theft by Fraud) Davos Ct – On 8/21/24, victim encountered a Facebook post from a supposed billionaire offering a money giveaway – after clicking the link and answering a few questions, victim was contacted two days later on Instagram by someone claiming to be the billionaire who informed him he was a winner – requested personal details – subsequently, victim received text messages from an unknown sender asking for money – leading him to purchase Apple gift cards and send payments via PayPal – totaling several hundred dollars – on 8/25/24, victim realized he was being scammed – contacted law enforcement – has since ignored further communication from the scammer – his Instagram account was hacked – bank statements showed $700.00 removed

CRL (Possession Danger Drugs) Lake Dr/Forest Shade Rd – Vehicle stopped for missing plate – suspect exited the driver’s seat – attempted to walk away from the stop – suspect threw a pack of cigarettes into the street – suspect detained after a brief struggle – inside the pack of cigarettes were two clear bags containing suspected methamphetamine – suspect arrested and booked at CDC
