That Crestline offers a diversity of entertainment was brought home by the wrestling event held on Aug. 17 at San Marzano Wine & Ale Lounge.

The 3PWA event, hosted by Ken Williams, was arranged as a benefit to the Elder Warriors retreat program for combat veterans. San Marzano has provided ongoing support for this program and other veteran activities throughout the year.

Approximately 90 fans attended.

“It was interesting, to say the least,” said Jackie Olin from San Jacinto. “And puts a smile on your face, especially when you hear the little children scream out, ‘They’re cheating!’ It was so nice to see the support for mountain veterans.” Her husband, Mike, an Air Force veteran, added, “Not knowing much about this brand of wrestling, I would say it is very engaging and there was lots of athleticism in the acting.”

Navy veteran Stacey Salem called the event “really energizing and a ton of fun and laughs.”

Tony Raze, the founder of the 3PWA championship wrestling road show – a Navy veteran and long-time American Legion member – said that “performing in a fundraising capacity is just my way of giving back to my fellow veterans. We will be back again.”
