Charming Victorian house surrounded by trees.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, folks will have the opportunity to tour four Lake Arrowhead homes as well as some spectacular gardens. Two of the homes are lakefront estates that will be accessed by boat shuttles.

The lifestyle, architecture, interior design, art, history and spectacular views reveal the beauty and magic of Lake Arrowhead’s one-of-a-kind private homes.

Tavern Bay Lakefront: This 1930’s sprawling iconic lakefront estate has been meticulously updated for modern luxury while preserving its original grandeur. Lavish lakefront lifestyle is balanced by the warmth and character of the historic “post and beam” construction.

Landing by boat at the magnificent docks, you’ll walk the path of glorious gardens to the home. The home features breathtaking lake and forest views, two wings of the home to explore, plus a guest house, water features and very special tiles, stone and brick throughout the home. The lakefront dock house even has a brick oven and gourmet kitchen.

The home was decorated by acclaimed interior designer The Elevated Nest and features lighting design by Moonshine Lamp Co. and furnishings by Timberline in the Glen, Modern Lodge Furniture and TEN Marketplace.

This Italian wood-hulled boat greets guests as they arrive at the Wooden Boat House.

Wooden Boat House: Guests will arrive at this stunning dock by boat shuttle, where they will marvel at the homeowners’ award-winning 1969 Riva Olympic – Riva Crusader 327 CI, 220 HP wooden boat. Inspired by the 1968 Olympics, the model was the last Italian hand-built wood-hulled boat.

From the dock, follow the path to the Arrowhead. Inspired by woody boats and lake views, wood and mountain woodsy décor – including from local purveyor Pendleton – are everywhere at this lakefront home. Each year in June, Lake Arrowhead Village hosts the Antique Wooden Boat and Classic Woody Car Show, a collaboration with Antique & Classic Boat Society SoCal and the Rim of the World Historical Society. The Historical Society will guide guests through the tour of this special lakefront home.

This home is a symphony of wood and includes a map of the homeowners’ travels.

Cedar Ridge Symphony: This estate feels like a symphony of cedars, wood details and modern lodge design. Touches of the forest are everywhere. This home features many special lighting designs from Moonshine Lamp Co. and décor by The Elevated Nest and TEN Marketplace.

The home’s wood ceiling beams have been completely reimagined by Mountain Homes Construction to match the wood details throughout the home. Furniture from Timberline in the Glen and Modern Lodge Furniture are showcased among the uniquely beautiful personal artifacts of the homeowners, including photography, map of their world travels and awards from their philanthropic activities. You may hear some beautiful Blue Jay Jazz played by top student scholarship winning musicians playing on the outdoor deck among the cedar trees.

Just like a kaleidoscope, this home is full of colors, shapes and textures.

Kaleidoscope: You’ve never seen a home like this! A complete renovation “down to the studs” by The Elevated Nest, with construction by Mountain Homes Construction and accessories from TEN Marketplace.

This mid-century modern home is full of colors, patterns, shapes, textures, vintage finds, details and stories that make it such a joyful and entertaining experience. The tile work throughout the home features unique shapes, colors and treatments. Indoors and outdoors blend as the great room sliders open to the outdoor decks and bar. The one-of-a-kind fireplace was lovingly restored to natural brick materials from white paint. You’ll be drawn to unique pieces everywhere, custom doors and light fixtures, a dining room inspired by the diner booth complete with Chevy truck upholstery. The home also has a theater room, game room and bocce court. The home is complete with 360-degree views of Lake Arrowhead and the mountains.

Stroll through these gardens, marveling at the whimsical statues and enjoying the music of the strings students.

Serendipity Gardens: We’ve never seen gardens like this in the mountains! Prepare to be transported to another world as you enter the verdant, whimsical gardens. Take it all in as you walk through each special area of the gardens: the Airport, Jurassic Park, the Serengeti, Lover’s Garden, the Fruit Grove and the Rose Garden of the Stars!

Breathtaking garden statues have been imported from the East Coast for your enjoyment! Violins and cellos calm the soul as the student strings of the Arrowhead Arts Association serenade the guests among nature’s songs of the wild birds.

At the end of your tour – or in the middle – stop by Burnt Mill Beach Club and enjoy the wine and cheese reception any time from noon to 5 p.m.

Tickets for the Home Tour are available at www.lakearrowheadhometour.com. When you purchase your tickets, choose either the morning boat shuttle (9 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) or the afternoon (1:00-4:00 p.m.).
