A walk in the mountains for a cause

Soroptimist International of Rim of the World invites everyone to join them on Oct. 6 for a walk “to remember, to inspire and to celebrate those who have been touched by breast cancer.”

The walk will take place at SkyPark at Santa’s Village from 8 to 11:30 a.m. 

The Soroptimists say that they hope this walk will help raise awareness for women on the mountain and will raise money for a new ultrasound machine for Mountains Community Hospital.

MCH is partnering with the Soroptimists and SkyPark for the walk. A $20 donation, which will be collected at the event, is requested to participate.

Participants will be able to walk in the meadowlands or on the Northwoods trail. There will be yoga on the Creekside lawn as well as women’s wellness booths.

There will be a silent auction, a “breast of show” bra contest, a costume contest and special food and beverage offerings.
