Playing with this famous line from the Broadway musical The Sound of Music, Mt Calvary Lutheran Church announces that this weekend, the church will be filled with the melodies of Broadway. The cast of all ages hs been busy rehearsing for this Broadway review show which will be held at the church on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m.
This fast-paced show is full of numbers from past and present Broadway productions plus a few surprises. There will be plenty of opportunities for the audience to sing a long or just sit back and enjoy as the cast of colorful characters takes the stage. Plenty of light banter and jokes will be sure to raise the spirits of all. Bring the family old and young or come on your own as the cast will welcome you with friendship and fellowship.
Mt Calvary, located in Crest Park behind Rim of the World High School, has become well known for its variety shows. The repertoire of productions has stretched from the more traditional nativity and church-based dramas to many years of Broadway review shows, USO productions and the very popular musical fairytale comedies in the style of British pantomimes.
The Mt Calvary Players, as they are now known, welcome anyone who wishes to join. They also encourage local youth to help out with the technical side of the audio production and lighting of the show.
Pastor Randy Buecheler and DCE Bob Scholz see the value of bringing such joy and laughter into the church through these varied productions. Mt Calvary is a very welcoming church and, whether you just wish to come see a great show or are curious about the church as a whole, you are very welcome.
