Deputies locate appliances stolen from newly built homes
On Monday, Oct. 21, at 8:48am, deputies arrested Pablo Marquez, 55 of Hesperia, for possession of stolen property at his residence in the 7300 block of Salem Avenue in Hesperia.
Edgewood Homes of Redondo Beach had multiple newly remodeled homes burglarized in the Murietta and Temecula communities. Each of the homes was equipped with new Whirlpool kitchen appliance sets valued at $3,700.00. The sets included a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and microwave.
On Oct.19, a vacant residence on Chauncy Way in Temecula was burglarized and the Whirlpool appliance set was stolen. Deputy M. Leiker was contacted because it was believed the items were being transported to the High Desert. Through the investigation, Deputy Leiker located the stolen items at a residence in the 7300 block of Salem Avenue in the county area of Hesperia. A search warrant was executed at the residence and the stolen items were recovered inside a van on the property.
Pablo Marquez was arrested without incident and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC496(a), possession of stolen property.

Deputies in Apple Valley investigate collision between vehicle and motorcycle
On Thursday, Oct. 24, at approximately 8:46 am, deputies from Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department, along with American Medical Response (AMR), responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle traffic collision that occurred on Apple Valley Road at the intersection of Catalina Road, in the Town of Apple Valley.
Deputy S. Esparza investigated the traffic collision and determined the 54-year-old driver of the Toyota pickup turned in front of the motorcycle, operated by a 21-year-old male. The motorcycle driver attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported by AMR to St Mary’s Hospital and then was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.

Pedestrian struck by vehicle succumbs to injuries
On Monday, Oct. 21, at approximately 10:16 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash. The crash occurred on Outer Highway 18 South, east of Pohez Road, in the town of Apple Valley. Through investigation, deputies determined the unknown vehicle was eastbound on Outer Highway 18 South, and the pedestrian, a 79-year-old female, was walking eastbound on the south side of the roadway. The unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and are investigating. Outer Highway 18 South between Pohez Road and Tao Road was closed for about five hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence.
The identity of the deceased is being witheld, pending notification of next of kin.

Deputies investigating traffic collision involving vehicle vs motorcycle
On Saturday, Oct. 26, at about 5:35 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the area of Nisqualli Road and Ninth Avenue in Victorville for a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that a gray Honda Pilot and a blue Yamaha R6 crashed in the westbound lanes of Nisqualli Road, west of Ninth Avenue.
The driver of the Yamaha sustained major injuries and was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. The driver of the Honda remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
Nisqualli Road between Eleventh Avenue and Ninth Avenue was closed for several hours.

Single vehicle crash leaves driver deceased
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, at approximately 5:56 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle crash which occurred in the area of Air Expressway and Nevada Avenue, in the city of Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies determined a blue Chevrolet Silverado was involved in the crash. Medical personnel transported the adult male driver of the vehicle to a local hospital with severe injuries. The driver was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team assumed the investigation. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The identity of the deceased is being witheld, pending next of kin notification.

Deputies arrest Victorville man for robbery
On Monday, Oct. 21, at approximately 11:06 a.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to a business in the 14300 block of Bear Valley Road for a robbery.
When deputies arrived, the suspect was gone from the location. The suspect assaulted a store employee who sustained several injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The suspect stole approximately $4,000 in U.S. currency.
Through investigation, deputies identified Dominique Finks, 20 of Victorville, as the suspect. A warrant for Fink and his residence were obtained and resulted in the seizure of multiple high-capacity magazines. Dominique Finks was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 211, robbery.

Victorville man dies after shots fired at a house party
On Saturday, Oct. 26, at about 12:47 a.m., deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired at a residence in the 14500 block of Coalinga Road, in Victorville, where a party was taking place. When deputies arrived, they observed numerous partygoers at the scene. Through investigation, deputies learned a male subject, identified as Tamariya Johnson, 23 of Victorville, had been shot and was taken to a hospital by friends before deputies arrived. Johnson was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.

Lethal force encounter occurs in Victorville
On Thursday, Oct. 24, at about 3:15 p.m., a deputy in Victorville responded to the Victorville Mall to assist security with an uncooperative male subject. When the deputy approached the male subject to detain him, the subject failed to comply and fled on foot. The subject stopped, brandished a knife toward the deputy and a lethal force encounter occurred. The subject was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division also responded and assumed the investigation. The deputy was not injured, and the investigation is ongoing. The male subject has not been positively identified and remains hospitalized.
