Helping to keep Rose’s memory alive

Oct 30, 2024 | Communities, Running Springs

People posing by bench honoring Rosenda Elizabeth Smiley.

The line was out the door at Rocky’s Roadhouse in Running Springs on Saturday, Oct. 19 as folks gathered for a spaghetti dinner that raised money to create memorial benches for Rosenda “Rose” Elizabeth Smiley. Her parents – Glori and Fillmore – and her brother, Fillmore “Cinco,” were proud to show guests the memorial bench (1) installed outside Rocky’s. Inside, Heather Sargeant, Nancy Taylor and Gina Richmond (2) were among the hundreds of people who enjoyed their spaghetti while swapping stories about the Rose they knew. People unable to attend the dinner who would like to make a donation may visit the GoFundMe page: www.gofundme.com/f/create-a-lasting-legacy-for-rose.
