Choose Your Own Oz

Nov 15, 2024 | Arts & Culture, Communities

Stage play with Wizard of Oz characters performing.

What if Toto were not a dog? What if he were a tiger or an octopus?

What if Dorothy wasn’t wearing ruby red slippers but clown shoes?

Those questions and more will face the audience when the Rim High Theatre presents Choose Your Own Oz, a comedy written by Tommy Jamerson – a fresh and fast-paced retelling of the L. Frank Baum classic.

The audience plays the playwright and has the chance to change everything.

The play has been described as a “delight for children of all ages. Choose Your Own Oz reminds us all that, at the end of the day, there really is no place like home.”

The show opened last weekend in Rim High’s Performing Arts Center and continues this weekend with shows at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. Tickets are available at the door or at Rimhightheatre.com.

The large cast includes Rainn Aplinshook, Gwen Watson, Hailey Trenchard, Brigid Mansfield, Kaden Spry, Nico Walsh, Alex Cortez, Orya Cohen, Cadence O’Brien, Alex Barrios, Avrie Milford, Acacia Hancock, Quinn O’Hare, Abigail Osterhold, S. Acuna, Grace Faulkner, Taylor Miller, Zoey Brown, Serenity Mattioli, Clair Walleman, Maisy Gonzalez, Reagan Subido, Ava Starlings and Sierra Wilson.

No play can be put on without a crew. For Choose Your Own Oz, the crew members include Katarina Hardyman, Brooklyn Rangel, Emily Chaidez, Iris Lake, Kali Brown, Hannah Ramsey, Layila Dennis, Piper Osterhold, Bailey Lake, Matthew Merola, Orya Cohen, Shawn Murray, Luna Thompson, Addy Cavallo, Lester Ruiz Contreras and Jerry Zuleta.
