Making spirits brighter

Christmas was a lot brighter for 32 families who participated in the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station’s annual Christmas for Families on Dec. 20.

The sheriff’s station thanked Faith Electric “for their generous support of local families. Their team brought in personalized Santa bags with toys and new winter coats for the children.”

While the children were at the station for the event, they were able to do a craft set up by Rim Family Services. Mountain Coffee Co. and Mountains Community Hospital treated the attendees to hot chocolate.

In addition, there was a special visit from county firefighters from Station 26 who handed out toys from their ambulance.

And the Jolly Old Elf himself showed up with an elf and Mrs. Claus.

The Citizens on Patrol purchased food items for a holiday meal for the families. Members of the Twin Peaks Explorers helped load items into the families’ cars.

“This event could not happen if it wasn’t for the many people and organizations that come together to support our community,” the Twin Peaks station posted on Facebook. “We are grateful for another great Christmas for Families event.”
