Folks who attended the bonfire in Lake Arrowhead Village on Dec. 14 most likely spotted Chad Logan of Logan Construction giving away toys at a table he had set up outside the bonfire area.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, Logan is sponsoring what he is calling a Community Giveback at which folks will be able to select clothing and household goods they are in need of.

On the flyer announcing the Giveback, Logan wrote that “this unique initiative aims to bless the families of our mountain communities with clothing and day-to-day household items. We are thrilled to invite all families to join us for this incredible Logan Construction and Al Barro Foundation partnership giveaway.”
The Al Barro Foundation was founded in September 2018 by Najoi Jabali and members of her family. Over the years they have addressed humanitarian concerns in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Lebanon and at home in California.
“This is my friend’s foundation,” Logan said, when asked how he came to partner with Al Barro. “Knowing that they have this foundation, I asked what I could do in my community.”
Logan added that he is “trying to make a presence in the community. I have been here for 12 years and have been very blessed. I want to give back.”
The first partnership between Logan Construction and the Al Barro Foundation led to that toy giveaway after the bonfire. The Al Barro Foundation donated the toys that Logan distributed to children as they passed by. And that triggered Logan’s idea for this Community Giveback.
The Al Barro Foundation, Logan said, buys overstock from Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Amazon. They have containers full of items they shop overseas but sometimes they can only get so much through a port.
“They have to buy a certain number of containers a month so they donate back to their community,” Logan said. “I asked why we couldn’t do that up here.”

After a lot of meetings, they came to an agreement and decided to partner.
The Community Giveback on Jan. 18 will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 27240 Highway 18 in Blue Jay – the site of the former Country Furniture. Logan is grateful to Pacific Capital Management for allowing this event to take place on that property.
The Al Barro Foundation will put together pallets of clothing and household goods, which they will bring up the weekend before to set up in the donation space. Logan anticipates there being 30 to 40 tables set up where folks can “shop.”
He is asking people to register (see the pictured QR code) so they can be sure to have clothing to meet everyone’s needs. The form asks for the person’s name, their contact phone or email and the number of people in their household.

Anyone unable to register through the QR code may stop by the Logan Construction office in Blue Jay (27221 Highway 18, next to the library) and register in person.
Logan said he doesn’t intend this to be a one-time deal. “I want to work with the Al Barro Foundation on what else we can do,” he said.
