Josh Wade Luker, Kara McGinley and Kelli Welzel – the driving forces behind the Mountain Toy Drive – were pleased to announce they helped 38 families this year with 114 children from Crestline to Arrowbear.

Every child, the organizers reported, received multiple gifts from their community. “The parents were blown away,” they wrote on Facebook. You guys really came through.”

Pictured are the volunteers who wrapped the gifts at the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church. Many of the parents and grandparents brought their children to help with the gift wrapping. “That was definitely the most magical part. They filled the church gymnasium with love and laughter. They were truly happy to be there.

“This was absolutely amazing work for such a small mountain community. The toy drive is getting bigger and better every year. What a beautiful thing we have created!”
