It may seem as if winter has just begun and that baseball season just ended with the Dodgers winning the World Series, but Mountains Little League is having their final baseball and softball signups on their website, www.mountainslittleleague.org. The last day to register is Jan. 25. However, the earlier the registration, the less likely the player will be wait-listed.

The tryout days are upcoming on Saturday, Jan. 18 and 25 at the Lake Gregory Education Center at 24740 San Moritz Drive in Crestline, depending on age and category, with a makeup day on Feb. 1, if either of those days are canceled due to weather.

These player evaluations are required for all divisions, except for those players who want to play T-ball.

Those who play will have their team uniforms – jersey and hat – provided by Mountains Little League. The players themselves will provide personal items such as socks, belts, pants, cleats, gloves and personal protective items. Each team is provided with a team bag of supplies such as practice balls, approved bats, helmets and catcher’s gear.

The coach will determine the colors for the shirts and socks and the days, times and locations of practice for each player after the teams have been formed. The schedules, based on age, will be available after the teams have been formed and issued in early March.

Information on fees and payment plans is available on the website.
