Traffic stop leads to arrest of man with federal marshal warrant

On Jan. 25 at 2:15 a.m., Big Bear deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Big Bear Blvd. and Pine Knot Ave. Deputies discovered the driver of the vehicle, Allen Vian, a 54-year-old resident of Big Bear City, had an active federal marshal warrant for alien smuggling.

Deputies conducted a search of Vian’s vehicle and found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and ammunition. Vian is a convicted felon with multiple prior convictions and is prohibited from owning any firearms or ammunition.

Vian was arrested for PC 300305(A)(1), felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia with prior convictions. He was booked into custody at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $280,000 bail.

Vian is scheduled to appear before the San Bernardino Superior Court on Feb. 6.

Driver found to be unlicensed and in possession of controlled substance

On Saturday, Jan. 25, at about 11:12 p.m., deputies from the Highland Police Station conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2000 BMW 540I at the intersection of Central Avenue and 3rd Street in Highland. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was identified as Robert Harvey Treadway, 44 of Highland, and was found to be unlicensed.

Treadway was detained and deputies located a white crystalline substance that was consistent with methamphetamine in the vehicle.

A records check revealed Treadway had prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Treadway was arrested for HS 11395, treatment mandated felony, possession of controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, and booked at Central Detention Center.
