After months of construction and temporary relocation, First Foundation Bank officially reopened its Running Springs branch with a community celebration. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, residents gathered for a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of long-awaited roof repairs.
Those celebrating the bank’s reopening enjoyed chili, cornbread and hot chocolate.
The bank’s primary location has been under significant construction due to storm damage stemming from the historic 2023 winter storm, locally dubbed Snowmageddon. The severe weather event buried the San Bernardino Mountains in record-breaking snowfall, leaving many businesses and homes in disrepair. First Foundation Bank was among the many structures impacted, requiring extensive renovations before reopening its doors to the public.
During renovations, First Foundation Bank temporarily operated out of 31565 Hilltop Boulevard, Space C, with adjusted hours to continue serving the community. The Feb. 5 celebration marked the branch’s full return to its original location, at 2625 Whispering Pines Drive, bringing a renewed sense of normalcy to both staff and customers.
Residents gathered to commemorate the occasion, enjoying homemade chili and cornbread alongside a hot chocolate station featuring First Foundation Bank-branded mugs. Deep royal blue tablecloths lined the tables where event goers gathered and celebrated the newly revived space, with bowls of chili in hand. The event signifies a fresh start for the branch, and the town, after a string of challenging weather experiences over the years.
