Ahh – there is nothing quite like visiting Paris in the springtime. But if travel to Europe is not on your “to-do” list, do not despair! The UCLA Mountain Bruins will whisk you away to the “city of lights” right here on the mountain.
An Evening in Paris will take place on Sunday, March 30, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the UCLA Arrowhead Lodge.
In the shadow of the Eiffel tower, guests will be listening to Parisian melodies while sipping their cocktails and wine, or perhaps a French 75?
There will be tempting silent auction bargains at the flea market. A fabulous feast of French classic cuisine awaits at food stations.
More treasures will be auctioned live while sampling an array of French desserts. Chocolate anyone?
The menu will include deviled eggs with caviar, cheese and paté boards, French country salad, French onion soup or pistou soup, fruit de mer (jumbo shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, bouillabaisse) canard a l’orange with haricot verts and rice pilaf, chateaubriand with ratatouille, and a variety of desserts (crème brulee, raspberry tarts, chocolate cake, macaroons) as well as a coffee and mocha bar.
This is the only fundraiser of the years held by the UCLA Mountain Bruins to award scholarships to students on the Rim who attend UCLA.
