Spring Fling is a fun-filled evening event coordinated by the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club for all the adult members of the community. The theme of Spring Fling 2025 – set for April 26 – is High School Daze. Attendees are encouraged to dress as they did in high school – whatever era that was.

The event was so much fun last year that this year they are planning it even bigger and better. Leisure Shores, located on the eastern shore of Lake Gregory, will be filled with magic, food, drinks, a talent show, games of chance and lots of friends will be there – your well-known ones and new ones you are about to meet.

Those who attended last year agree that they were amazed and enjoyed magician extraordinaire Zac Swan. Since last year, he has been touring the country, baffling Americans with his magic. Swan has become so well-known within the magic world that Crestline is fortunate to be able to have him perform locally again at this year’s Spring Fling. His up-close magic confuses the mind, as he does impossible tricks that surprise and thrill his audiences. He has performed many times at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, and Crestline is honored he wants to come back and perform for his hometown crowd of admirers.

“Bring a friend, tell a friend; just be there,” says Carrie Forbear of the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club. “Expect surprises!”

At Spring Fling this year, the Fireside Room will be filled with games of chance, with payouts to winners. Some of the fun games will include card games and several original games from last year. Adult beverages, such as wines and beers, mocktails and more, will be available in that room to make the games of chance more challenging. The horse derby races that were so popular last year are also returning. Fun is the plan for the day. There will be live music and raffles.

In the Lakeside Room, the talent show will take place all evening. The variety of talented people in this community willing to show off their skills is amazing. Those who would like to perform at the talent show should contact Tamara at the Leisure Shores office before the event by email at cfscc.office@gmail.com and apply for a time slot. The winner of the talent show will receive a first prize of $100 with second prize of $50.

“We urge people to sign up ahead of time to participate in the talent show, but we will also take signups the night of Spring Fling,” says Forbear, the event coordinator.

The Spring Fling is a fundraiser to support the expenses of the many activities and events offered at Leisure Shores, plus the electrical costs of cooling and heating, insurance and other expenses that have all greatly risen this year.

This fundraiser is being held on Saturday, April 26 from 4 to 9 p.m., but attendees do not need to be a senior to attend nor be a member of Leisure Shores, just an adult over 21 years of age.

Tickets are on sale now, only $30 for an evening of fun and frivolity, including live entertainment, plus appetizers and dessert. Adult beverages will be available for purchase, so the party is for those 21 and over only. Get your tickets at Leisure Shores, 24658 San Moritz Drive in Crestline, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.  to 3 p.m. Tickets are also being sold at the senior luncheons at the San Moritz Lodge on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Look for their pop-up ticket sales booths at Goodwin’s and the Crestline post office.
