Earth Elements, located in the Lake Gregory Village business district of Crestline opened on April 14, 2024. Owners Drew and Vanessa Anderson have been trying to coordinate a ribbon cutting ceremony for months but they were stymied by snowstorms and a rainstorm. Even when the ribbon cutting finally took place on April 18, the skies were wet and gray, but they held the ceremony inside because rain indicates good luck.

Vanessa Anderson is about to cut the ribbon with the members of the Crestline Chamber of Commerce board of directors holding the ribbon.
Inside the gambrel building at the corner of Thousand Pines Road and Lake Drive, chamber members gathered at Earth Elements to wish them well and celebrate their anniversary with the ribbon cutting. The shop is more than just a retail store of crystals, minerals, fossils and rocks; Drew and Vanessa also share their love of the stones and give education about the nature of the stones and their history, including the creation of the stones and their impact on lives.
“Earth Elements is more than just a shop – it is a place of community, energy and inspiration from hand-poured candles to stunning crystals, eclectic spiritual finds and locally crafted treasures. We are here to bring a little more light and magic to the mountain,” said Vanessa.
Robin Bull, representing County Supervisor Dawn Rowe, came with a county certificate of recognition celebrating the event. She had come to one of the previously canceled ribbon cutting days and purchased a crystal, which she said it gives her so much energy, which she needs in this new job.
Louis Boehle, the Crestline chamber president, congratulated the Andersons on their one-year anniversary earlier in the week and wished them well this next year. After the ribbon cutting, everyone attending signed the wide ribbon for Drew and Vanessa as a keepsake.

Then, Earth Elements had gift drawings for those in attendance. Robin Bull received a large, heavy, black, carved obsidian pointed tower, which is said to sharpen a person’s thinking. Candace Pearson received a purple lepidolite tower, said to promote emotional healing, stability, calmness and balance. Dirk Rinker received a smokey quartz crystal, said to remove negative energy and promote calm, which he will need while coordinating Jamboree Days these next couple of months. Nathan Hazard received a polished labradorite, associated with protection and transformation. Rhea-Frances Tetley won the historic gem from the separating of the continents only found in the Herkimer County area of New York, a Herkimer diamond, a heavy double-terminated quartz crystal. They also had refreshments of cookies and cupcakes for their crowded store of visitors at the event.
Afterwards, Drew said, “This was fantastic and awesome. We are feeling the kind support of the community.” Vanessa added, “How nice of everyone to come out this morning for this event.”
Earth Elements is a two-story-tall gambrel store, located on the corner at 23898 Lake Drive, across the street from the Crestline post office. They will be hosting a parade announcer on their patio during the Jamboree Days parade. They welcome all who are interested in learning more about the properties of crystals and gems, as they want to share their knowledge and improve the lives of those who visit.
