Let’s all get on board for “Crestline Vibes 2025!” That’s the theme for Crestline’s fast-approaching Jamboree Days celebration. The Crestline Chamber of Commerce needs enthusiastic volunteers and vibrant parade entrants to make this long-standing community festival shine.
Plans are coming together for a lively community picnic and Duck Derby on June 29, followed a week later by the annual parade and fireworks extravaganza on July 5. Jamboree Days will delight thousands of visitors to Crestline with a sense of joy, patriotism and community spirit. Your participation can make this decades-long tradition unforgettable.
Jamboree Days is Crestline’s heartbeat, uniting families, businesses and visitors for a weekend of celebration. On June 29, the community picnic will feature games, jumpers, vendors and the whimsical Duck Derby, where rubber ducks race across the lake.
On July 5, the Independence Day parade, kicking off at 10 a.m., will wind from Top Town Crestline along Crest Forest Drive, down Fern to Lake Drive, ending next to Lake Gregory, followed by a dazzling fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. over the lake.
“Jamboree Days brings out the kid in everyone,” said Dirk Rinker, the chamber board member who is leading the event this year.
Volunteers are essential to this community spectacle, with roles for every skill and schedule. For the picnic on Sunday, June 29, vendor coordinators will guide vendors to their spots, ensuring smooth operations from 9 to 10 a.m. The set-up crew will arrange jumpers, games and tables, setting the festive stage from 9 a.m. to noon. All-around volunteers will provide information, sell Duck Derby tickets, and assist as needed from noon to 5 p.m. A clean-up crew (16+) will tidy up from 5 to 6 p.m., keeping the San Moritz meadow pristine.
On July 5, volunteers on the parade set-up crew will sign in parade entrants, set up VIP seating and the Fun Zone and set up announcing stations from 8 to 10 a.m. Vendor coordinators will guide vendors to their assigned locations and troubleshoot their setup needs from 8 to 10 a.m.
Adult members of the parade barrier security team will man dozens of intersections along the parade route from 9 to 11 a.m. to keep the crowd safe. And adult volunteers in the beer garden will help vendors set up and sell tickets to thirsty parade goers between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. All these volunteers add to the festive vibe. A clean-up crew is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. to wrap up, leaving Crestline spotless.
Parade registration for July 5 is now open at Jamboreedays.com, with a deadline of midnight, June 27. The chamber invites businesses, schools, clubs and families to create floats, decorate vehicles or form marching groups that capture the 2025 theme, “Crestline Vibes 2025,” or showcase local pride. Awards include the Americana Trophy for national traditions, Arthur Gregory Trophy for nonprofit floats, Charles S. Mann Public Spirit Trophy for commercial entries, Showmanship Trophy for entertainment, Theme Trophy for embodying Crestline Vibes and Judges Trophy for dramatic design.
“Get those applications in early and show us your Crestline spirit,” Rinker said. “We aim to put on a parade that folks of all ages can treasure and cherish, from the Mountain Fifes & Drums to quirky homemade floats. Let’s put on a party!”
