Rim of the World Educational Foundation’s annual gala – Rim Ed Goes to the Movies – is nearly upon us.

Mike Arrequin, VP of Burrtec, at last year’s Rim Ed gala. Once again this year, Burrtec is a major sponsor of the event.
After walking the red carpet – whether dressed as their favorite movie character or dressed ready to accept their Oscar – guests will have a plethora of items to bid on in the silent auction.
From restaurant gift cards to acting classes, a smog check to a round of golf, a mani-pedi to dance classes, purses to a wine tasting – there will be something for everyone.
The Rim Ed Foundation is grateful to the more than 50 businesses that have donated items or gift certificates to the silent auction. The funds raised by these donations will help fund Rim Ed’s three areas of focus: Partnership with Schools awards, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and the CTE (Career Technical Education) classes. These areas of focus benefit students at all seven campuses of the Rim of the World Unified School District.
Want to know more? Students from the AVID program and the CTE classes will be at the dinner to share how their lives have been impacted and changed by this program and these classes.
But that’s not all! There will be music, dancing and movie trivia plus an Oscar-worthy buffet. And there will be contests for the “Best Red Carpet Look” and the “Best Movie Character Look.”
The work of the Rim Ed Foundation is made possible, in part, by generous donors like San Manuel, Amazon, Schools First and Masaji LLC who support the Foundation throughout the year. Rim Ed is grateful to them and the event sponsors who are supporting the gala.
