The Crestline Chamber of Commerce started off the summer season right, with a snip of a ribbon, opening the new glass doors of its new visitors center on the north shore of Lake Gregory, overlooking the lake.

At the ceremony, attended by dozens, they announced that new signs welcoming tourists and residents to town at its four highway entrances are all now installed.

The new welcome sign at the main entrance to Top Town Crestline on Highway 138 replaces an older sign that was destroyed during a storm last winter. When it was installed, they also replaced the various nonprofit club logos that show the community involvement in Crestline, reflecting the positive vibe that the town enjoys and will be celebrating this coming Jamboree Days with the theme “Crestline Vibes 2025.”

Also welcoming people to historic Top Town is the new neon sign that was installed earlier this year. There are now three signs on Highway 138, one as described at Top Town coming from Highway 18 on the south, one entering Valley of Enchantment on Highway 138 on the west, and another one on Old Mill Road at Highway 138 on the north side, plus the one on Lake Gregory Drive, entering from Highway 18 on the east.

At the visitors center ribbon cutting, they announced a number of new signs had been erected to welcome tourists and residents.

Inside the new visitors center are beautiful photos of the many activities there are to enjoy in Crestline, such as Lake Gregory with its Duffy boats and other quiet boats, SUPs and kayaking options. For boating or shoreline fishing, Lake Gregory is one of the best trout and bass fishing lakes in Southern California.

There are photos of the chamber’s many events, from Christmas with Santa bonfires on the north shore of Lake Gregory to the Top Town Fall Festival and Jamboree Days with its fireworks to last February’s Mardi Gras at the San Moritz Lodge and more. Many local activities are also highlighted, such as the Crestline Highlander’s Vintage Base Ball team (with a team uniform and 44-ounce wooden bat on display with their banners celebrating their back-to-back championships), the beautiful photo of the hang gliders and para-gliders suspended in the air off the Teddy Bear launch site on Playground Road, photos of off-road adventures, hiking trails and, of course, SkyPark with its mountain bike park.

The chamber has added a small refreshment area for those walking around the lake, with cold and refreshing drinks and snacks available. They also have some Crestline souvenirs and, of course, the local Crestline history books.

On top of that, they have hiking maps and current information about the community’s local businesses and activities, with docents who know what is occurring that day in town, so stop in and ask for the latest info. For those groups having community events, be sure to let the chamber know and drop off a flier so your event is on the new bulletin board of activities.

The visitors center is located at 24385 Lake Drive, on the north shore of Lake Gregory. Visitors center hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. all summer long. Call the office during business hours at (909) 338-2706 or see their website for information on events at www.crestlinechamber.org and on Instagram, too.
