After 17 years of owning Rim Bowling in Crestline, Jody and Joseph Glaviano said it was time to move on and enjoy other personal projects, so they have sold the property and the business to Job Quevedo Romo, a two-year Crestline resident with plenty of experience in the sports entertainment industry.

“It was just time to retire, and for us to have more family time with our children and grandchildren,” Jody Glaviano told the Alpine Mountaineer. “All of our kids have grown up and moved off the mountain, but we will stay on the mountain, and I still have my real estate license with the Lynne B. Wilson agency and I will be active.”

Glaviano said she has had other offers in the past to buy the Rim Bowling, but she always turned them down. This time, it was different.

“There was just something about Job,” she added.

She said Job told her he wanted to run the bowling business and keep it family, youth-oriented and family friendly, and keep in place the programs she and Joseph initiated, then build upon that.

“Rim Bowling has been a fabulous part of our family for 17 years, but we just don’t have the energy anymore,” she said. “I had several conversations with Job, and he wants to be part of the community.”

The Alpine Mountaineer finally caught up with a very busy Job Quevedo Romo, and he said he loves the community and the family-friendly feeling he has found here.

“I’ve lived here in Crestline for two years now, and I love how friendly the community is, how much everyone is so welcoming,” he said.

Romo, 37 years old, worked for the Los Angeles Galaxy organization for 12 years in management and marketing and loved the excitement surrounding the American professional soccer club, based in the Greater Los Angeles area.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “I got to travel the world, be with great people and be involved in a great sports franchise.”

He’s also worked in the restaurant industry, and has lived in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

“But I love it up here,” he said about Crestline and the other mountain communities. “I see Rim Bowling as a great place for kids, young people and families, offering great bowling programs, and I want to keep that going. I have some ideas, but I want to get settled in and go from there.”
