Cedar’s resurrection — An ode to a tree

Tall tree in sunny forest landscape

I was once a small cedar

A lil sapling.

A sprout.

I grew and grew

Followed the path up to the sky.

Never questioned or asked why.

It’s encoded for me to start at the ground and rise above my peers no matter how many years.

Face my fears and rise.

Rise to heavens and maybe I’ll get there and all y’all can marvel and stare.

I made it and experienced what it’s like to be eye to eye with beautiful birds, hawks and eagles.

They showed me how to soar.

Now I can go home back into the earth deep like a cave.

Back into darkness where I came from.

It’s faster than light and I just might let you in on a secret.

It’s all an illusion, time, space, distance, speed and need.

We are both death and life. Life cannot come until death. And death cannot come until life says no more. Stay with me here and now. Take a bow cuz I am you and you are me. Passing thru the illusion of time and all the other things we think are real.

The only real thing is what stares back at you in the mirror. Take a bow for you and me.
