The sixth annual Lake Arrowhead Pride boat parade and the fifth annual Pride Village Fest brought color, music and a spirit of unity to the San Bernardino Mountains this past weekend. Against the backdrop of Lake Arrowhead’s natural beauty, the celebrations honored the LGBTQ+ community with vibrant festivities and heartfelt tributes, fostering a sense of belonging and joy.

Festivities began on Friday, June 27, with a lively kickoff at The Stockade Grub & Whiskey, featuring music by Dee Jay Jory and a special appearance by Jewels. Simultaneously, Lake Arrowhead Village hosted Always Adele, an Adele tribute band, drawing a crowd of music lovers. The party continued late into the evening at Tiki Republik, where DJt71 and Jewels Long Beach kept the energy high with dynamic sets.

The main event took place on Saturday, June 28, when a fleet of festively decorated boats set sail for the Pride boat parade from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Spectators lined the shores, docks and decks to cheer on participants, who embraced the theme with Pride-themed attire, colorful flags and uplifting messages of love and inclusion. The one-hour cruise included scenic lake views, complimentary beverages and gourmet hors d’oeuvres.

The boats were ready to take off in the sixth annual Lake Arrowhead Pride boat parade.

Immediately following the parade, the Pride Village Fest continued from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Lake Arrowhead Village. The event featured live performances from local youth rock band Actual Proof and the ever-popular Jewels, joined by 2024 Miss Southern California Continental, Jazmyn Simone Echelon, and newcomer to the event, Rhea Della Vera. The celebration culminated that evening with a high-energy performance by the K-TEL All Stars, a popular 1970s tribute band, at the Village waterfront stage.

Organizers emphasized that, beyond the celebration, the Pride boat parade is a powerful symbol – a public demonstration of love, acceptance and the ongoing fight for equality in the mountain community.

“Pride in Lake Arrowhead is about visibility, solidarity and joy,” said one event organizer. “It’s a moment for our community to come together and proudly affirm that everyone belongs.”

Lake Arrowhead LGTBQ is bringing the party to the month of August. Hit those Pride celebrations in LA and Palm Springs and save the dates for August 15, 16 and 17! More details and ticket links coming soon so follow us at www.lalgbtqia.org for updates.
