Subject Arrested for Running Illegal Mushroom Sales Operation in Big Bear Village

On August 9, concerned citizens alerted Big Bear Station’s deputies of an illegal mushroom sales shop operating in the Big Bear Village. After a thorough investigation, deputies authored a search warrant for the establishment. The shop owner, Christopher Tindall, was contacted by deputies and found to be in possession of approximately three ounces of illegal psilocybin mushrooms for the purpose of sales. Tindall was arrested and charged with violating Health and Safety Code 11352, Illegal Sales of Psilocybin Mushrooms, a felony.

Tindall was booked into custody at the Big Bear Jail and was later released on bond. Tindall is set to be arraigned at the San Bernardino County Superior Court on August 12, 2025, at 8:00am. Highland Deputies Respond to Theft Call and Locate Suspect During an Area Check

On August 12, at approximately 11:38 A.M., Highland deputies responded to a call for service for a theft at Tractor Supply. The suspect concealed items in his backpack and walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise. The suspect fled on foot towards Foothill Boulevard and a description of the suspect was provided to deputies. During an area check, deputies located and detained the suspect, later identified as Art Murrieta, for shoplifting. Murrieta had numerous prior convictions for theft, and he was placed under arrest for PC 666.1(a)(1)- Petty Theft with Two Prior Convictions. Murrieta was transported and booked at the Central Detention Center.
