Saturday, Sept. 27 was “Meet the Postmaster Day” at the Cedar Glen post office with new postmaster Elijah Gomez (pictured) offering coffee from Cedar Glen’s Mountain Coffee Company, with four dozen donuts, plus postal coloring books and crayons and friendly hellos to all who stopped by the post office. About 60 people took their time to meet Gomez and postal clerk Willie Maronie with suggestions and positive remarks about the postal service they are receiving. The post office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to11 a.m.
