Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. This day of giving was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

It’s more important than it ever has been to show up for our communities. Support your local social good organizations, mutual aid networks and community organizers. Do an act of kindness or help a neighbor. Identify your gifts, pick a cause that gets you fired up and give back – not just for Giving Tuesday but every day.

The Rim of the World Educational Foundation invites the community to a Giving Tuesday celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lakefront Tap Room in Lake Arrowhead Village. Come and help Rim Ed reach its goal of raising $10,000 for education – that money will go toward the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, the CTE (Career Technical Education) classes and Rim Ed’s Partnership with Schools awards, which are given to all six Rim campuses.

For just a $10 donation, enjoy some appetizers with Rim Ed board members and learn more about the Foundation’s mission and goals.

The event will be hosted by John and Heather Hackney, owners of the Lakefront Tap Room, who are generous supporters and donors to the Rim of the World Educational Foundation.

Other donors include Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, Burrtec Waste Industries, Schools First Credit Union, Masaji LLC, Mountain West Financial, Mountain Jewish Community, Women’s Club of Lake Arrowhead, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, Wildflowers, The Lake House, Brian Cohen Real Estate, Steve Valentine Real Estate, Cecilia Ponce de Leon Real Estate, Lake Arrowhead Country Club and Rim Bowling.

The Rim of the World Educational Foundation has donated more than $778,000 to Rim schools since 2010, including $48,000 this summer for the Davis STEM pilot program.
