Making birthdays happier

At their Nov. 25 meeting, members of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead assembled 38 “Birthday Boxes” to be stocked by local food pantries. Each lidded 9×11-inch aluminum pan holds a Funfetti cake mix, a can of frosting, a Sprite soda (to add to cake mix instead of oil and eggs), birthday plates, napkins, candles and balloons, a recipe card and a birthday card signed by the Rotarians. These will be handed out to families whose children are having a birthday and who otherwise might not have a celebration of their special day. Thank you to all of the Rotarians who helped pack the boxes. “Service above Self” can be a great experience when surrounded by friends!
