The Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club (CFSCC) in Crestline installed their new officers for 2026 at their membership luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the San Moritz Lodge.  The club has about 500 members who get to be involved in numerous activities of their choice each month.

The board of directors for 2026 will be President Rhea-Frances Tetley, 1st VP George Faragalli, 2nd VP Eric Obermeit, Secretary Marianne Black, Treasurer Joann Sanderson, Thrift Store Manager Marci Collar, Membership Director Kaaren Nowlin, Activities Director Lori Wikes, Fundraising Chair Cecilia Ponce De Leon, Social Media/Publicity Chair Patricia Adaco, Parliamentarian Beverly De Forest; the Nutrition Program Manager is Emiliya Phidayeva.

The purpose of the Crest Forest Seniors is to offer social opportunities and resource information for community members and designed for seniors, plus activities that keep the mind and body active, while offering fun.

They are an active organization for those 50 and older who live in any part of the mountain communities; even those who are part-timers may be members, so they can be involved in the numerous activities each month and make friends in the community. Their clubhouse Leisure Shores is located facing the lake, at the east end of Lake Gregory, near the meadow, east shore docks and bait and tackle shop.  They are across the meadow from the San Moritz Lodge.

Members can choose from activities as diverse as bowling, Tai Chi and yoga to walking around the lake to painting and art and crafts classes. They offer numerous card and board games, dominoes, bunco, poker, plus classes in beginning Spanish, the philosophy group and a book of the month discussion group. They offer several sewing groups such as the Quilts of Valor class, who make quilts for local veterans, and the community sew group.

They also host several clubs such as the Oldies but Goodies, and the Mountain Music Makers. No matter what instrument a member may play, they may join as the group plays a variety of music both for the fun of playing together plus they perform at numerous club events and at community events, too.  Santa even visited last week for “Donuts with Santa.”

The seniors also offer twice weekly senior nutritional lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. to all community members aged 60 and over for a suggested contribution of only $3 a meal; the meals are partially funded by the Department of Aging. It is an excellent opportunity to socialize, as about 100 to 110 attend each luncheon held at the San Moritz Lodge on the eastern shores of Lake Gregory in Crestline. Membership in the CFSCC is not required to attend the luncheons. A menu is published each month and is on the website, www.CrestlineSeniorcitizens.org.

What is unique about the CFSCC is that members can start a class or activity around a topic that interests them.

The funding for the club comes from the $20 membership fee for those between the ages of 50 to 80, proceeds from their thrift shop located in Top Town Crestline and a couple of fun fundraisers each year. Those over the age of 80 get free memberships just for signing up. Active members receive a free parking pass for the parking lot and those trying out a couple of activities to see if they want to join may get a guest parking pass in the office when they arrive.

Leisure Shores is available for rentals for community events during the club’s after hours; it’s perfect for family get-togethers, receptions and parties. Contact the CFSCC office manager Tamara Bellamy for additional details and prices at (909) 338-5036 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays or write to her at cgscc.office@gmail.com.
