A new pet supply store on the mountain held its grand opening on Sunday, January 10 in Crestline. Jiji & Friends Pet Supplies has opened in the Alpine Mall in unit 103; the three-room store opens up to both the center of the Alpine Mall and to the east side parking lot of the mall next to the tire shop.
They have a wide variety of supplies for many types of pets and local animals. They offer foods and pet items for pets and other animals including Isis’s special home-made dog chews made by the store’s owner, Isis Lopez in Jiji’s Bakery. She has been making and selling these popular dog chew items at the local farmer’s markets over the past year. In the new store, she stocks seven of her most popular chews and treats, including dried chicken feet made in the Jiji Bakery. Customers will be amazed at the variety of chews for dogs.

The new store has all the traditional items for pets such as winter sweaters for dogs and cats, gentle restraints and collars for pets and leashes. They carry outdoor winter igloos, dog beds and blankets. They also offer a wide variety of pet foods, but are willing to order whatever you need. Keep in mind that many of their items were still in transit during the grand opening, but they decided to open anyway to benefit the community with merchandise already in stock.
The supply shop has a whole room of items for reptiles, chickens, and guinea pigs, mice and other small rodents. They carry Henny Penny chicken items, such as laying pellets, food and worms, crickets and more. They offer special orders for items that may not yet be in stock. They will also be offering deliveries for some items upon request.
On the grand opening day, January 10th, they had many surprises. Out front, they had a tall talking dog waving to the traffic as it passed by. For the customers they offered free hot nachos to all who stopped by. They were giving away free pet food, and even had free black-and-white kittens up for adoption. It was a friendly afternoon opening day.
