On Saturday morning, Jan. 18, local mountain families lined up in Blue Jay for Logan Construction’s second annual Community Giveback event. The event, made possible through a partnership with the Al Barro Foundation, was a huge success, drawing a large turnout.
Founded in September 2018, Al Barro Foundation – meaning “He who is a source of goodness” in Arabic – is a nonprofit organization established in response to humanitarian needs observed in several Central American countries as well as the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. The organization was founded by the foundation’s president, Najoi Jabali, along with members of her family and a dedicated group of volunteers.
Recognizing gaps in access to basic necessities, including shelter, clothing, nutrition, education and medical care, Al Barro Foundation works to support marginalized communities through targeted humanitarian efforts. These initiatives are made possible through the support of donors, sponsors, patrons and volunteers.
Since its founding, Al Barro Foundation has implemented several long-term humanitarian initiatives aimed at addressing these critical needs, with partnerships spanning from Los Angeles to the San Bernardino mountain communities. Enter Logan Construction, a local construction company headed by Chad Logan, focusing on both residential and commercial clients. The company specializes in new construction, additions and remodels across both industries.
“Chad is one of our biggest donors. He’s very passionate about his community and we love coming up here to work with him,” Jabali said.

How it works
Beginning last year, Al Barro Foundation partnered with Logan Construction to bring these humanitarian efforts to Blue Jay. Logan Construction covers the cost of logistics, allowing volunteers to pick up giveaway essentials from a local warehouse and transport them to mountain communities. With relationships with large conglomerates such as Amazon and Walmart, the Community Giveback event is able to provide residents with new supplies.
Items distributed included pet supplies, clothing, feminine products, kitchen essentials, home décor, vitamins and supplements and even water dispensers. Additional giveaway items such as Keurig coffee machines and winter coats were also provided. Supplies were divided by size as families came through, with multiples of each item allowed.
A history of impact
This is not the first time Al Barro Foundation and Logan Construction have worked together. The organizations have partnered on several initiatives, including the sponsorship of children in Latin America. In one effort, Logan Construction partnered with local businesses in the San Bernardino mountain communities to provide gift bags for more than 150 children. Each bag included an outfit, a pair of shoes and a holiday toy.
When asked why giving back is important to him, Logan shared, “This is an awesome partnership because it gives back to the community. We’ve always tried to help in any way possible since the start of our business.”
For many families, the event served as a reminder that even small acts of generosity can have a lasting impact when a community comes together.
