Lake Arrowhead Library seeks English tutors

Feb 4, 2026 | Education, Lake Arrowhead

The Lake Arrowhead Library is currently seeking volunteer tutors for their adult literacy program. This free program provides adults the opportunity to improve their reading and writing of the English language on their own schedule and at their own pace.

Tutors assist adult learners with learning basic reading and writing skills. They set their own availability and are matched up with a learner who matches their schedule. The base requirements are that they are 18 or older and have a strong understanding of the English language. All meetings take place in the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library.

Anyone interested in becoming a tutor should call the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library – located at 27235 Highway 189 in Blue Jay – at (909) 382-3900. Tutors will need to apply as a San Bernardino County volunteer and pass a Live Scan background check, at no cost to the tutor.

The San Bernardino County Library system is a dynamic network of 32 branch libraries that serves a diverse population over a vast geographic area. The County library system strives to provide equal access to information, technology, programs and services for all the people who call San Bernardino County home.

For more information on the San Bernardino County Library system, visit http://www.sbclib.org/ or call (909) 387-2220.
