Rim Special Athletes (RSA) is hosting a day of bowling this month at Rim Lanes in Crestline. Rim Special Athletes offers individual athletic activities for those with developmental disabilities and their families who live in the mountain area.
They have organized days of activities all year long, reflecting the season. Fun is the focus of these sporting activities, as the “kids” of RSA, range in age from 10 to older adults that get involved in these activities.
During the month of February, often because of cold or wintery weather, one of the indoor activities they sponsor is a day of bowling. This month, RSA is offering a day of bowling with a pizza party for Rim Special Athletes members and their families, on Feb. 21. They are always seeking new members and this event will be another excellent opportunity to come and meet the current members and, hopefully, join the group. They will be presenting many other activities for the rest of the seasons this year. Sporting activities offered by Rim Special Athletes are always free to all participants.
Rim Special Athletes is a program designed to give children and adults who have special needs an opportunity to engage in individual sporting activities. Some of the other activities offered during the year include lake days at Lake Arrowhead during the summer, skiing and snowshoeing when the weather conditions allow, some hiking and they’ve offered yoga and golf.
The bowling and pizza party will be held at the Rim Bowling & Entertainment Center at 23991 Lake Drive in Crestline from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. Some attendees may even play the video games in their game room. For those who are interested in attending, please email RimSpecialAthletes@gmail.com to let them know how many will be attending this fun afternoon on Feb. 21.
