With this year’s annual St. Patrick’s Day just past, I reckon everyone was whipping out their colorful bangles and beads from Mardi Gras all over again. Doesn’t matter that St. Patty’s Day is over, there’s plenty more holidays where they came from. Also, like February’s Mardi Gras inside the historic San Moritz Lodge, there was plenty of beer, green beer at that! Oh boy, everyone was jumping for joy (By the way, who is this so-called Joy person?). Never mind, Joy is a real person, a person who I believe, likes green beer.
Anyway, with that much jumping for joy, those bars could have had a riot before the party was over. Strike up the band, boys!
They’re rioting in Africa There’s hurricanes in Florida and Texas needs rain. The whole world is festering with unhappy souls. Germans hate the Poles, Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch, and I don’t like anybody very much. But we shall be thankful and prankful and proud for man’s been endowed with a mushroom-shaped cloud and we know for certain that some lovely day someone will set the spark off, and we will all be blown away. (“Merry Minuet” by the Kingston Trio)
The Kingston Trio added, they were rioting in Africa, when there’s strife in Iran what nature doesn’t do to us will be done by our fellow man, “Eh”, bet you didn’t know I can speak Canadian, too? Well, now you do, whoop de do. Also, there will be plenty of green beer, home brew and a whole bunch of fine wine this summer when Corks & Hops returns. I will enjoy the Petite Syrah from Crestline’s very own Sycamore Ranch Vineyard and Winery.
Also making another surprise entrance, I hope, will be Crestline’s very own magician Zac Swan. Hey, this guy is really good at card tricks, and he will amaze you with his dexterity and finger prowess. Penn and Teller have nothing on Zac, who mainly sticks to card tricks and never saws people in half.
Yes, bands will be playing once again under the stars, hopefully with longtime Crestline songstress Shannon Bizzy and her crew, who keeps the music and dancing going. And then there’s the outdoor food stations, serving chicken, hot dogs, fries and burgers. One more dance session, I hope, featuring the Little Bear Blues Band again.
And-a-now, after the bounce houses and drinking and music, it will be time to hop in your car and get the heck out of there. Good night, sleep tight and whatever you do don’t let the bed bugs bite!
They’re rioting in Africa they’re starving in Spain and whatever nature does, …just .don’t let it snow again this season, I’ve had enough…snore, snore, snore.
Keep it flyin’
Uncle Mott
