Rotarians across the globe subscribe to one simple tenet: Service above self.
Whether they are meeting the needs of their local community, participating in a regional program or assisting with a global project, they always put the needs of that community, that project ahead of their own needs.
What are the needs of the Crestline community? That is the question the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club would like to answer.
Rather than conducting an official community needs assessment, the members have chosen to hold a “meet and greet,” inviting community members and business leaders to join them and bring their ideas of how they can all work together to serve the community.
The meet and greet will take place on Wednesday, April 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the upstairs seating area at Goodwin’s Market. Several representatives of Rotary District 5330 plan to attend and will be available to answer questions about just what Rotary is.
Rotary International is a global network of more than 1.2 million business, professional and community leaders in 170+ countries.
Locally, the Crestline-Lake Gregory club sponsors four EarlyAct Clubs at Valley of Enchantment Elementary School. The club partners with the Crestline Lions Club to distribute backpacks and school supplies to local students. They sponsor the free community Thanksgiving dinner and they offer a community awards banquet at which other organizations honor those who have gone above and beyond.
What else can the club do? Who else can they collaborate with?
