Checking out the books at last year’s Lake Arrowhead Friends of the Library book sale.

If you are in need of a good read, look no further this weekend than the libraries in Crestline and Lake Arrowhead.

At the Crestline library, the sale began on May 18 and continues through this Saturday, May 23 during library hours. Buy one book and get another at half off. Hardbacks are $2, paperbacks $1.

The library, located at 24105 Lake Gregory Drive, is open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on Fridays and open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Lake Arrowhead Friends of the Library will hold their annual Memorial Day weekend book sale on Saturday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of the Friends get first choice from 7 to 8 a.m., with special pricing of $1 per bag of books. Not a member? Sign up on site and get a cloth book bag.

Visitors will find thousands of gently used items, including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, DVDs, CDs and much more.  The sale is a perfect opportunity to discover new reads for summer while giving back to the community.

“Memorial Day weekend is a wonderful time for our community to come together in support of the library,” said Mary Jo Alari, president of the Lake Arrowhead Friends of the Library. “Every book purchased helps us continue to enrich lives through reading, learning and connection.”

The Lake Arrowhead branch library is located at 27235 Highway 189 in Blue Jay.
