18-year-old female falls off Big Bear Dam
On Tuesday, July 14, at approximately 11:03 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the Big Bear Dam at 37800 Big Bear Boulevard, in Big Bear Lake, for a search and rescue of an 18-year-old female who had fallen.
When deputies arrived, they learned the female was under the Highway 18 bridge with friends when she fell from the top of the support structure under the highway.
Deputies and Big Bear Fire Department first responders descended down the hillside to the location where the female had fallen and located her at the bottom of the hill. Big Bear Fire paramedics initiated lifesaving measures on the female; however, despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The young woman has been identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner as Isabella A. Fanueler.
Based on the preliminary investigation, there are no indications of suspicious circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death; however, the investigation remains open and ongoing.

2-year-old child fatally shoots himself
On Thursday, July 16, at about 5:27 p.m., deputies in Highland were dispatched to a residence in the 6900 block of Victoria Street for a 2-year-old child who had been shot. Deputies arrived at the location and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the child. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the child to the hospital where he died shortly after.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide and Crimes Against Children Details also responded and assumed the investigation. Investigators determined the child gained access to a gun hidden between two seat cushions on a couch and shot himself. The child’s mother, Jamaria Cobb, 20, and her boyfriend, Armand Bright, 52, were inside the residence when the shooting occurred.
A second child inside the home was taken by Child and Family Services (CFS). Cobb and Bright were both arrested for PC 273A(A) – Child Abuse Causing Great Bodily Injury or Death and remain in custody at the Central Detention Center on $1,350,000 bail.

Man arrested for possession of child pornography
In June of 2026, Stater Bros. store video captured Adam Quinn, 40 of Lake Arrowhead, dropping a MicroSD card while shopping at the location. The MicroSD card was collected by a store employee and turned it over to law enforcement.
After review of the MicroSD card, deputies discovered thousands of digital media depicting child pornography. The media included real and artificial intelligence-generated images of infants and juveniles performing sexual acts. The sexual acts on the card included oral copulation, vaginal penetration and sodomy. The MicroSD card also contained media linking Quinn as the owner of the card.

A search warrant was authored and served at Quinn’s residence where deputies located Quinn’s phone, multiple computers, laptops, flash drives, hard drives and additional MicroSD cards. A review of the electronic items revealed Quinn possessed hundreds of thousands of images and videos containing child pornography.
Quinn was present during the search of his residence and investigators determined the found MicroSD card and the additional child pornographic material located at his residence belonged to him.
On Wednesday, July 15, Quinn was arrested at his residence and booked into Central Detention Center for P.C. 311.11(a) – Possession of Child Pornography.
Detectives believe there may be additional information linked to Quinn and are releasing his photograph.
