Corks & Hops began as a monthly craft beer and wine tasting festival, presented by the Crestline Chamber of Commerce. The first known events took place in 2018, with dates on the first Saturdays of June, July, August, September and October. The format quickly became a signature summer tradition, blending local brews and wines with live music, food and shopping in the town’s mountaintop setting.
This year’s first event was the so-called Mardi Gras Corks & Hops, which was held on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Crestline’s historic San Moritz Lodge, where it reportedly attracted over 300 participants, many of whom were donning colorful, New Orleans-style costumes and colorful beads. One highlight of February’s event was the amazing card tricks performed by local magician Zac Swan.
Pre-sale tickets for this coming Saturday, Aug. 1, may be purchased at www.corksandhops.com until 6 p.m. on July 29 and will also be available on the day of the event, at the check-in site.
Enjoy Corks & Hops in Crestline from 3 to 8 p.m. each first Saturday of the month through October. This month’s theme is “Through the Ages” with the announced band lineup featuring The Sawpit Canyon Band, Totally Tubular, Beau Pender, Michael Gonzalez and Steve’s Rock ‘n Roll Time Machine. Hear music from previous decades and come dressed as an example of your favorite music era.
Check-in will be located at Higher Grounds Coffee House on Lake Drive and at Hearth & Sage General Store in Top Town Crestline.
