John and Heather Hockney celebrated the opening of their second restaurant in Lake Arrowhead Village with a ribbon cutting at Cask & Cure on July 27.

“We wanted to bring something new, something fresher to Lake Arrowhead Village,” Heather said.

At the same time as they celebrate the opening of Cask & Cure, they are also celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Lakefront Tap Room.

John noted that he and Heather were high school sweethearts. “We believe in Lake Arrowhead,” he said. He added they could not ask for better staffs than they have at the two restaurants where they employ a total of 100 people.

Representing the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce, Brian Cohen presented them with a membership plaque, thanking the Hockneys “for what you bring to Lake Arrowhead Village.”

Assemblyman Tom Lackey attended in person, congratulating the couple on “still being willing to take a risk. I am happy to support this achievement.”

Corrine Mora, representing Congressman Jay Obernolte, thanked the couple and told them that “we are proud of you.”

Following the ribbon cutting, a number of chamber members enjoyed lunch at Cask & Cure as part of the chamber’s monthly Lunch Mob.
