Editor’s note: As the sheriff’s department is no longer providing their log of calls, the Alpine Mountaineer is compiling Nixle press releases for our readers. This week there are no new releases from the mountain area or Highland.

UPDATE on Victoria Rogers

Victoria Rogers, who was arrested on July 23, was arraigned in Superior Court on Sept. 8. Present were Cary Epstein from the district attorney’s office, Rogers’ attorney Levon Kyurkchyan and Rogers.

A continued arraignment was set for Nov. 17 at 8:30 a.m. The defendant was ordered to appear then.

The nine felony and misdemeanor charges Rogers faces include PC532(a), theft by false pretenses; PC487, grand theft; and PC484(b), diversion of construction funds.

UPDATE on Clifton Bedore

Clifton Bedore, who was arrested on July 4, had a pre-preliminary hearing on Aug. 24 in Superior Court. Present were Alicia Long from the district attorney’s office, public defender Justin Ewaniszyk and Before, who is still in custody.

The hearing was reset for Oct. 27, when the defendant was ordered to appear. However, the defendant waived the time for the preliminary hearing to Dec. 28.

Bedore faces charges of PC451(b), maliciously and willfully setting fire to an inhabited structure; PC1170.12(a)(d)(a), a special allegation noting a defendant’s prior felony conviction under California’s Three Strikes law; and PC667(b)(i)(a), California’s Three Strikes law, which creates longer prison sentences for people convicted of a new felony.
